Then a thought accurred to us: pay down mortgage! Why not, an extra $5000, while nice, won’t add much to our current savings - but paying down the principal on our home mortgage could save a lot in interest over the remainder of our loan. Were talking thousands of dollars in savings. So we’re going to take that extra money windfall and pay down our mortgage. It will save us much more over the next ten years.
