Frank Lloyd Wright is remembered as being one of the greatest architects of the past century and perhaps of all time. He influenced modern design by encouraging concepts and construction techniques that were both durable and affordable. One of these concepts was the Carport. Wright believed that carports were the best way to take care of a car. They provided protection while taking up minimal resources and costs, which was the core of Wright’s architectural philosophy. Interestingly enough Frank Lloyd Wright was the one to coin the term carport. He did this in 1936 when he first included one in his designs.
