The 1960’s were a remarkable period in American history and one aspect that stands out is the muscle car revolution that came out of Detroit. Automakers were taking their standard cars and beefing up the power to unheard of levels. A side effect of this was insane levels of gas consumption that these engines required. A similar scenario is going down now as the tradition of giving seemingly normal cars a ton of power continues.
