Like many Baby Boomers, my husband and I have led active lives and reaped the rewards of a good life.  We’ve enjoyed good food,  computers, HD movies, and driving everywhere in our fine cars.

What we didn’t realize that we were essentially creating a high uric acid diet and lifestyle.  That doesn’t mean much unless the combination of obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, and food cause painful gout.

When my husband’s fee and ankles began to swell, his doctor told him that uric acid was not being broken down by his body and was depositing in joints, causing gout.

We immediately changed our diet to one the doctor recommended, my husband took medications, and, when he felt better, we walked anywhere we could.

We’re still proud of our lifestyle but now we’re very careful not to let the good life interfere with good health
