Cake Recipes – The Origin of Cake Recipes
If you are fond of cake recipes, you might have wondered where all the recipes for baking cakes came from. In the early days cake was made of a simple flour-base and sweetened, whereas, bread was just flour-based without making it sweet. In time people found extra ingredients to add to bread dough.
The ancient Greeks baked cakes known as “plakous” where they used nuts and honey while the Romans used raisins, nuts and other fruits to honor their gods and the Egyptians many products sweetened with honey.
