Learning the American English Accent-The Speech Apparatus
Learning the American English Accent-The Speech ApparatusThere is a lot that goes into creating speech that we don’t really think about when we speak. But when learning the American accent, we should really be aware of these things. The speech apparatus refers to the parts of your mouth and organs needed to produce speech, and there are quite a few. The most important ones include the following: the lips, the teeth, the tongue, the lower jaw, the palate, the uvula, the throat, the nose, the vocal cords, the lungs, and the diaphragm. All of these organs, plus the muscles that move them, must be working properly in order to create speech sounds correctly.
