Vocational and technical schools, community colleges and universities are offering certificate or diploma programs to any aspiring medical assistants. Some of them are also providing an option on medical assistant programs for 2 years or associate degree. Education with regard to these programs covers anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, transcription, recordkeeping, accounting and insurance processing. Medical assistant students are also expected to learn more laboratory techniques, clinical and diagnostic procedures, pharmaceutical principles, proper medications and communication to patients. They will be trained to practice different office practices, improve patient relations, and learn more about the medical law and of course ethics. During the training process, they will be brought to the field to experience on the job training. They will be supervised in attending training sessions and working with experienced workers.
