When you think of Aintree Racecourse, you automatically think of horseracing. But, at one time, the racecourse used to be home to British motor racing: the British Grand Prix. The track ran alongside the now horse racing track. For nine years, from 1955 to 1964, the racecourse was the home of one European and four British Grand Prix. Furthermore, many other international races were held at the grand national venue during the same period. The motor racing track followed the stands and enclosures before following the route of the horse racing course towards Bechers Brook. Then it went along towards Tatts Corner.
