The Apple App Store has been very popular, and profitable for Apple since its start during the summer of 2008. Barely a month ago the app store hit about 100 million app downloads. And now according to iPhone News the Appe Store has hit about 200 million downloads. Thats an awful lot of downloads. The stats don’t say how many were free downloads and how many were paid downloads. I wouldn’t be suprised if a vast majority were free downloads. Even if only a few million downloads out of the 200 million were paid. Apple still takes a chunck of the profit from App makers. Apple is laughing all the way to the bank.
